Join bassist Fred Randolph, keyboardist Ben Stolorow and me on vocals for a fun evening of swinging jazz standards and Brazilian grooves.

Ben Stolorow, a Hertz Traveling Fellow studied in New York with pianists Stanley Cowell, James Williams and Fred Hersch. One can hear his lyrical sensitivity influenced by Bach and Bill Evans to Thelonious Monk and McCoy Tyner. He has performed at Yoshi’s, Kuumbwa Jazz Center, at the Healdsburg and SF Jazz Festivals, and has also toured and performed throughout Japan. Ben is also a faculty member of the California Jazz Conservatory.

His professional career includes three CD releases, orchestral and soundtrack work as well as teaching at UC Berkeley. He is currently the leader of The Fred Randolph Quintet (Fred Randolph, basses; Erik Jekabson, trumpet; Sheldon Brown, saxes; Matt Clark, piano; and Greg Wyser-Pratte, drums). He continues to perform as a bassist for many of the Bay Area’s finest including Maria Muldaur, Dan Hicks, Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Collective West Jazz Orchestra, Sandy Cressman’s Homenagem Brasileira, Bobbe Norris and Larry Dunlap, Kenny Washington, Michael O’Neill, Dmitri Metheny and Calvin Keys.
