Greet the Buddha at Le Colonial in San Francisco and head upstairs where we'll be swinging up a storm at the 721Lounge. Pianist Ben Stolorow he displays the wide scope of his influences, from Bach and Bill Evans to Thelonious Monk and McCoy Tyner. One of the most in demand jazz pianists in the area both as a leader and sideman, he has performed at Yoshi’s, The Jazzschool, and the Kuumbwa Jazz Center, at the Healdsburg and SF Jazz Festivals, at Oakland’s Art and Soul Festival, and has also toured and performed throughout Japan.
Bassist Fred Randolph's professional career includes three CD releases, orchestral and soundtrack work as well as teaching at UC Berkeley. He is currently the leader of The Fred Randolph Quintet (Fred Randolph, basses; Erik Jekabson, trumpet; Sheldon Brown, saxes; Matt Clark, piano; and Greg Wyser-Pratte, drums). He continues to perform as a bassist for many of the Bay Area’s finest including Maria Muldaur, Dan Hicks, Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Collective West Jazz Orchestra, Sandy Cressman’s Homenagem Brasileira, Bobbe Norris and Larry Dunlap, Kenny Washington, Michael O’Neill, Dmitri Metheny and Calvin Keys.
